Information we collect

When you create an account we collect your email address and password credentials. When you complete your member profile we collect your first and last name, phone number, address, city, region, country and your commercial interests in buying from and selling to African markets.

If you list a business we collect the company name, summary, products and services, sector, country, contact email and website you provide.

How we use your information

We use your information to verify who you are, to carry out due diligence, to match you with relevant buying and selling opportunities, to display your approved business listing to other vetted members, and to communicate with you about the platform.

We do not sell your personal information.

Due diligence and verification

Due diligence may involve verifying company registration, ownership, trading history, references and identity documents. Records of verification outcomes are retained so we can display an accurate trust status to other members.

What other members can see

Your personal contact details are not shown to other members. Only the business listing you submit, once approved, is visible to signed-in members, together with your trust status indicator.

Storage and security

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with access controls, encryption in transit and role based access limited to authorised AAITO personnel.

Your rights

You may access, correct or request deletion of your personal information, withdraw your listing at any time, or ask us to stop contacting you. Requests can be made through the contact form on this site.

Retention

We keep member and transaction records for as long as your account is active and afterwards only for the period required to meet legal, accounting and dispute resolution obligations.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified to members by email or on the platform.
